V6#1 kicked off 1988 with two top-notch interviews by Deputy Editor and journalist I. Jabulani Tafari. His previous interview with the recently deceased Peter Tosh is a lengthy overview of Peter’s life, mission, and music entitled “Reggae Radix…Peter Tosh – The Man-Message -Music.” A must-read for all Peter Tosh fans.

Jabulani also caught up with the Bongo Man himself – Jimmy Cliff – following two sold-out South Florida shows in November 1987. Jimmy shared his shock at the loss of Peter and Free I in a senseless shooting only two months before. He also discussed his recent trip to Africa, where he recorded in Zaire and the Congo for his LP Hanging Fire.  Both of these in-depth interviews are reason enough to download this issue!

If more reasons are needed, check out our story on singer Edi Fitzroy, Dancehall Dons Pt. 2, Michael Rose, Marcus Garvey, Yard Report, Miami Reggae, the Night Nurse report on the NYC runnins’, and all the reviews and new release info readers came to love!

As always, there’s the entertaining Irie Editorial; inspiring quotes from Haile Selassie I, Marcus Garvey, the Bible; USA & International Reggae; Yard Report; charts, new releases, reviews, poetry, Did U Knows, and more!
